By the end of this unit the student will be able to:

2 Understands written messages of a professional, academic, and everyday nature of relative difficulty, performing a comprehensive analysis of their content.

  • Extracts specific information from texts of various types related to their profession across different media.

  • Reads and understands industry-related texts autonomously, with the reading speed and style appropriate to their competency level.
  • Interprets correspondence related to their specialty, easily grasping the essential meaning.
  • Interprets long and somewhat complex texts, whether related to their specialty or not, through multiple readings if necessary.

4 Drafts documents and reports specific to the sector or to academic and everyday life, aligning linguistic resources with their intended purpose.

  • Drafts clear and detailed texts on a variety of topics related to their profession, synthesizing and evaluating information and arguments from various sources.
  • Completes documentation specific to their professional field, using specialized vocabulary and social protocols/norms specific to the country.
  • Organizes information accurately, precisely, and with cohesion and coherence, requesting and/or providing general or detailed information.
  • Completes texts using visual aids and linguistic cues.
  • Prepares reports, highlighting significant aspects and providing relevant supporting details.
  • Writes formal and informal letters, using established courtesy formulas and specific vocabulary.
  • Summarizes different types of written documents using their own linguistic resources.

5 Applies professional attitudes and behaviors in communication situations, describing typical relationships characteristic of the foreign language’s country. Assessment Criteria
